When Jalissa Tucker is forced to work with the bane of her existence, Jeremy Rider, she’s not amused about it.
I loved An Unlikely Alliance because the characters were relatable and the dialogue was sharp and witty. Jalissa and Jeremy both had misconceptions about each other which led to conflict. Toni Shiloh did a great job of teasing out the relationship between these two showing the transition from enemies to friends and then lovers.
There was a strong faith element and readers will be reminded that God cares about every aspect of our lives, even the little things. This was especially a good reminder for me because it was exactly what I needed to remember at the moment when I was reading this book.
An Unlikely Alliance is the sequel to An Unlikely Proposal but can be read as a stand-alone. If you read the first book in the series, you’ll get enough glimpses of Trinity and Omar to warm your heart.
Oh, and did I mention this book has puppies? And dogs. Both Jalissa and Jeremy had dogs that made a cute addition to the story.
I received an advanced reader’s copy from the author; a positive review was not required.
