Doctorshipped, Savannah Scott quote

Doctorshipped Review

What happens when the always optimistic, determined to remain single woman meets the handsome grump of her dreams? In Doctorshipped by Savannah Scott, Jamie meets the one man who may threaten her single status.

Okay, full disclaimer: I love grumpy sunshine books, and this one was both charming and sweet.

Grant may just be the doctor with the worst bedside manner until he’s with his daughter Fiona. Then his whole countenance lightens and he becomes a new man. His evident love for his daughter was a pleasure to read and made you want to peel back the layers of Dr. Grant to see if he had what it takes to be in a relationship.

I loved Jaime. I’ve only read one other book in this series (so far), and she was my favorite character then. She was a source of positivity and hope who took pleasure in being on being a beacon of light to others.

Her relationship with Fiona and then with Grant was exactly what each of them needed and also what she did, too.

Doctorshipped had some laugh-out funny scenes–really, and I enjoyed seeing Grant come undone as he fell in love with Jamie.

I listened to the audiobook version of Doctorshipped. Amy McFadden and Will Damron did a fabulous job portraying the characters and drawing me into the story.

Readers will be reminded that sometimes the thing we thought we wanted is not the thing we need. Both Grant and Jamie had very distinct ideas about what they wanted, to the point where they almost lost out on what was best for them.

If you enjoy reading grumpy-sunshine, single dads, or found family books, give Doctorshipped a chance.

I received a review copy of the audiobook from the publisher through NetGalley; a positive review was not required.

About Doctorshipped: A Small Town, Grumpy-Sunshine, Single Dad Romcom (Getting Shipped! Book 5)

I’m the absolute last remaining single woman in the entire town of Bordeaux.
Okay, maybe not the very last.
Just the last one with all her teeth, natural hair color, and the ability to remember where I set my keys.

I decided years ago that I’m going to remain single until my dying day.
I’ll infuse a new, hip meaning into the term “old cat lady.”
I don’t need a man.
I’ve got my bulldog, my cats and some of the best friends in the world.
My cup’s not half-full—It’s overflowing.

My man-free life is going along fine until the day I walk into my new job as a part-time tutor to the daughter of the new doctor in town. The sight of this man is making my skin tingle and my breath hitch, and something very much like butterflies are erupting in my stomach.
Butterflies!
I don’t do butterflies over a man.

My reaction doesn’t mean I need to change my stance on men. After all, Grant’s a broody, stern, cantankerous man. If I were going to start dating, it certainly wouldn’t be someone who obviously hasn’t smiled since he was forced to for school pictures.

But then his daughter walks in the room and his face lights up.
That smile. Who knew swooning was a real thing?
Still, I’m not dating. And that’s final.

Doctorshipped is a laugh-out-loud, small-town, grumpy-sunshine romcom with a broody single-dad book boyfriend who has a heart of gold, and a found-family friend group. You’ll get all the sizzle you ever wanted in a closed-door romance with a happily ever after that will leave you smiling!

You will smile. You will laugh. Yes. You will need coffee because you stayed up past your bedtime reading. Sorry, not sorry.

If you can’t find Savannah, she’s probably hiding with a book, dancing Zumba, or going a little crazy being the fun carpool mom who cranks the tunes and always goes through the drive-thru for copious amounts of sugar and fat on the way home from school.

(Can you keep a secret? I thought so. Savannah also writes as Patty H Scott, which is the Clark Kent to her Superman. If you like clean romance, check out Patty’s books.)
