To Write a Wrong by Jen Turano is the second book in the Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency series. When mystery writer Herman Henderson starts getting death threats, he seeks out the assistance of the Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency.
Daphne is not usually a field agent, but due to a peculiar set of circumstances, she’s the best fit for Herman’s case.
My Review of To Write a Wrong
When Daphne and Herman get together, sparks fly and disasters happen. But for some reason, these two are good together.
The Characters in To Write a Wrong
I loved reading Daphne’s story. It was quirky, funny, romantic and full of drama. Though she wouldn’t have considered herself courageous, she demonstrated great courage in standing up for what she believed in and for people who were left in her care.
Herman was the perfect hero for her. He understood and accepted her quirks. He supported her when she needed it while allowing her to defend herself when that’s what she wanted to do.
The Themes in To Write a Wrong
Readers will be reminded that when we are weak, God’s strength is available for us. This was especially evident in Daphne’s character. She struggled with anxiety and had a tendency to blackout when she was overwhelmed. In spite of her weakness, she was able to accomplish great things by leaning on God.
Final Thoughts on To Write a Wrong
To Write A Wrong is the second book in the Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency series but can be read as a standalone. The book was at times laugh-out-loud funny while tackling serious issues like the lack of rights that women had during that era. I received an advanced reader’s copy from the publisher through NetGalley; a positive review was not required.
About To Write a Wrong (The Bleeker Street Inquiry Agency #2)
Miss Daphne Beekman is a mystery writer by day, inquiry agent by night. Known for her ability to puzzle out plots, she prefers working behind the scenes for the Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency, staying well away from danger. However, Daphne soon finds herself in the thick of an attempted murder case she’s determined to solve.
Mr. Herman Henderson is also a mystery writer, but unlike the dashing heroes he pens, he lives a quiet life, determined to avoid the fate of his adventurous parents, who perished on an expedition when he was a child. But when he experiences numerous attempts on his life, he seeks out the services of the eccentric Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency to uncover the culprit. All too soon, Herman finds himself stepping out of the safe haven of his world and into an adventure he never imagined.
As the list of suspects grows and sinister plots are directed Daphne’s way as well, Herman and Daphne must determine who they can trust and if they can risk the greatest adventure of all: love.
