Wings of the Wind, Connilyn Cossette

Wings of the Wind Review

In Wings of the Wind, Connilyn Cossette follows Alanah’s journey from her family home in Canaan to the battlefield and beyond.

Alanah started out with many reasons to hate the Israelites. And she did. But as she remained among the Israelites and was treated with kindness by most people, her heart began to soften toward them.

I love the way Ms. Cossette chronicled the change that YWH accomplished in Alanah’s heart.

I wish I could say that when Alanah accepted the Hebrew God as the one true God that her life was smooth sailing from that point. But as is so often the case in our lives, accepting God as Sovereign is often the beginning of our trials.

But God proved faithful in Alanah’s life as He will in ours.

The romance between Alanah and Tobiah unfolded slowly. As she learned to trust him, she unfurled the barriers to her heart.

Readers of Wings of the Wind will be reminded that God has a plan. Not only for our lives but for everyone He wants to save (spoiler alert: that’s everyone).

I listened to an audiobook version of Wings of the Wind and enjoyed narrators  Sarah Mollo-Christensen and Tim Campbell’s performances.

Motherless and raised alongside her brothers, Alanah, a Canaanite, is no stranger to fighting. When her father and brothers are killed in battle with the Hebrews, she disguises herself and sneaks onto the battlefield to avenge her family. The one thing she never counted on was surviving.

Tobiah, a Hebrew warrior, has spent his share of time on the battlefield and is shocked to find an unconscious woman among the casualties.
