Winning His Trust by Toni Shiloh is the unofficial book two of the Wood siblings that were introduced in Her Christmas Redemption.
In Winning His Trust, we get to see Jordan’s story. The second oldest sibling has recently returned home after some setbacks and is trying to find her place in Willow Springs and her family. Helping Declan is one key to proving to everyone, including herself, that she’s not a failure.
This book was such a great story! I loved Jordan’s vulnerability and transparency. She didn’t always feel as though she wasn’t a failure, but I loved the way she worked to overcome that feeling.
I enjoyed Jordan and Declan’s story. The two went from a slightly acrimonious relationship to friendship, out of which their love blossomed. And reading about River was fun too. He was such a sweetie!
Jordan had a lot to prove to herself. I liked the way she didn’t back down from a challenge but sought ways to solve whatever it was. Her blurting out whatever came to her mouth made spending time with this Wood sibling enormous fun.
Declan was Jordan’s opposite—reserved where she was outgoing, Declan was introverted and reserved, but he came alive around Jordan. The two of them made a great couple. Jordan brought out the best in him (after he got over his shyness). The author also did a good job of portraying his relationship with his son.
Winning His Trust will remind readers that each of us has a purpose and it might not be what we think. Sometimes, our purpose is just to love the people God put in our lives to the best of our ability.
If you like enemies to lovers, single dad books, or redemption stories, you’ll enjoy Winning His Trust by Toni Shiloh.
I received an advanced reader’s copy from the publisher through Just Read Tours; a positive review was not required.
